Tom graduated from Purdue University with a DVM degree in 1979 and initially entered into a mixed animal practice in Illinois before moving to a mixed animal practice in Rensselaer in 1981. After several years of focusing on swine production medicine, he started Rensselaer Swine Services, P.C. in 1991. He obtained diplomate status with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Swine Health and Management Specialty in 1989 and recertified in 2008. He is a graduate of the Executive Veterinary Program from University of Illinois in 2009. Tom consults with swine operations worldwide and has been involved in the swine industry since his 4-H years on a hog and grain farm in north central Indiana. Tom is the past president of American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) and chairperson of the AASV Task Force on PCVAD from 2006 till 2009. He continues to serve on numerous committees.

He has several papers on different topics and pathogens in the literature. Tom has lectured in most hog producing states in the United States and Canada and several countries in SE Asia and Europe. Tom and his wife, Denise, live in Rensselaer and have three kids: Kevin is an employee of Weaver Popcorn and has four children; Matthew is working as a supervisor for ADM in Beach Grove, Indianapolis; and Kendra is employed at Rensselaer Swine Services as PigCHAMP data entry and has one child. Tom's hobbies include gardening (especially growing roses), spending time with his family, shooting sports, camping and fishing.

Dr. Wesley Lyons : Veterinarian

Dr. Wesley Lyons received his B.S. in Animal Science degree from the University of Tennessee in 2010. He then attended the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and received his DVM in 2014. He started in mixed animal practice for a few months with his father, Dr. Chuck Lyons, before joining Pig Improvement Company as a Health Assurance Veterinarian. He joined the Bethany team in March 2016.

Wesley is married to his husband Preston who is in seminary in Chicago at Lutheran School of Theology to be a Lutheran pastor. They enjoy hiking, kayaking, skiing, and staying active with their two dogs Oakley and Chaco. They are die-hard University of Tennessee Volunteer fans. Wesley is also a marathon runner and enjoys hunting on his family farm in Paris, TN.

In October 2013, Kendra joined our staff as an Assistant Office Manager. She grew up working in our office part-time for many years and is catching on quickly. In December 2012 she graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. She also got married on December 29, 2012 to Curt Pogue. Curt works at SAdkev in Goodland as an Engineer Assistant. They currently live in Morocco with their dogs, Dash and Walter, and their son, Clark Randall born on September 15, 2016.

In May 2004, Jodi joined our staff part-time in the office. She performs accounting duties, but also assists with all customer service aspects as well. Jodi is originally from Hebron, IN but spent 18 years in Lansing, IL working for Dutch Farms. She moved to Rensselaer in 2004 with her husband Chris and their dog Charlotte. Jodi's hobbies include crocheting, reading and spending time with family.
